"THE KINGDOM"

Over 15,000 years ago, retreating glaciers during the close of the last Ice Age deposited lime-rich soil in discrete areas of Northern Vermont, affectionately referred to as the "Northeast Kingdom" by local Vermonters.

Within the Eden Notch Forest lies the Eden Notch Estate, an eastern facing mountain slope with elevations of 1500’ to 2000’.  The Estate lies at the origin of the Missisquoi River, and is the heart of producing the distinguished, wild crafted JEM Maple Syrup.

“THE EDEN NOTCH SUGAR MAPLE”

The naturally grown Eden Notch Sugar Maple thrives as it feeds on rich limestone soils and is nourished by the clean, pristine waters of the Missisquoi watershed that originates in the Eden Notch Forest. Within the Eden Notch Forest lies the Eden Notch Estate, an eastern facing mountain slope with elevations of 1500’ to 2000’.  The Estate lies at the origin of the Missisquoi River, and is the heart of producing the distinguished, wild crafted JEM Maple Syrup. The Eden Notch Sugar Maples in the Estate are over 100 years old and meticulously cared for by our experienced Forest Stewards. The Eden Notch Estate is governed by the sustainability guidelines issued by The Nature Conservancy and The Vermont Land Trust. These organizations and the lands they help put into preserve are considered the gold standard for creating a truly sustainable environment.
